Friday morning we got up really early and got all ready to go!
Then James drove Brynlee, My Mom, and Me to the airport.
This was Brynlee's first time in big airport and her first time going through all the security lol. She enjoyed watching and counting the planes.
Then just as the sun came up we boarded our plane!
Once we landed we where shutled to our hotel where we dropped our bags, ate some breakfast and headed to the park, which had only been open about an hour.
We saw a bunch of characters right in the gate then hit the rides!
Brynlee's very first ride was the River Boats
Sfter that we worked our way up and down Tarzan's tree house and up to Splash Mountain. My mom and I asked Brynlee if she wanted to go on it and said yes.... just to be sure we showed her the drop off and watched several logs go down and she still wanted to go.... so we did!
after a moment of uncertainty after the drop off she was more than pleased with the ride... Yaya on the other hand informed me that she does not like roller coasters lol
Then we got to meet Pooh and friends!
Tigger just LOVED her and playing with her. I would say he spent a good 8 mins with just her. the 2 of them had lots of bounce fun!
Then it was on to pirates which was not her favorite (and is the only ride she cried on) because it is too dark. But after that we made our way over to the princess'.
Her smile can tell you that Princess Aurora is not really her favorite (but give her a break she has never seen that movie) But she was happy to tell her she has a friend with the same name!
We got to watch Rapunzel and Flynn act out their story on stage...
Then it was off to the castle to ride the tea cups and others.
She talked to every girl for 10+ mins it was amazing and so very personal. The Bears in the wagon even respond appropriately when Merida and the kids talk to them!
When Brynlee was done they told the crowd that Merida needed to go feed Angus so we waited to wave good bye and to our surprise Merida asked Brynlee to walk with her! The walked and talked all the way across the its a small world area...
Then they stopped and hugged before Merida went behind the scenes for a quick break.
Next we found a nice shady spot for the parade and had some frozen lemonade!
Okay I must stop here for a story about the young man in the picture below..... As you can see we where seated in the shade right up front right next to the handicapped section. This young man and his mother and others where seated inside the section also waiting for the parade. Of course because of my life with my brothers my attention was imminently attracted to him/ (and I believe my mom to). Throughout the parade my attention was split between my daughter, this young man, and the parade itself. Before the parade started I saw an employee (someone from a food or souvenir stand) walk up and talk to his mom and give him a hug. Just before the parade started his mother gave him a pair of drum sticks. I just figure he liked to drums. Once the parade started I knew he liked drums! All the drummers in the drum line waved and seemed to recognize him, but I was shocked and amazed when one of the drummers in the drum line stopped in front of him and let him rap on the drum for a minute. As the drummer ran to catch up with the rest of the line the young man gave the sticks back to his mother. That though was not the end of the special magic Disney had in store for me to see. Throughout the parade EVERY princess waved just to him and you could see the recognition in their faces and they blew him kisses and sent him little hearts with their hands. The Dancers would stop and shake his hand and talk to him. He was like my brother is for Blue Ridge only for Disneyland! It was the most special thing to watch and he loved it! Afterword My mom went over with tears in her eyes and thanked the woman for making her day by bringing her son to the park. I think Brynlee liked the parade as much as the young man and it is a memory my mom and I are sure to never forget. After the parade we went and watched Mickey and the map and just sat for a little while...
it was nice to sit in a cool shaded seat rather than the hot ground.....
then it was off to toon town for more characters and a roller coaster!
Then down to ride dumbo with Yaya
And Brynlee always wants to ride a carosel!
If I remember right we finished up with Mr. toads wild ride and the fairy tale boat ride (where we saw a mama and her ducklings trying to get through the crowd and to the water) then we went to the golden horseshoe for dinner. We where going to try to make it to fantasmic but Brynlee passed out just as we got dinner ordered and we decided that with 2 days left it would be okay to leave. So we boarded the shuttle back to our hotel just as the fire works where going off.
Eventually we got checked into our room, had our bags brought up and just after setting our alarms we passed out!
