Brynlee's Birthday Week

Part 1

OK SO Brynlee's 1st birthday was June 2nd. Though because we where moving to New Mexico we decided to do an early birthday with my side of the family. I knew that for Brynlee's acctual birthday and her party with James' side of the family I would not have time or be organized enough to make her a cake so I decided to try my hand at cake making/decorating for this first party this year.
I spent several hours in the kitchen. Making the cakes was fairly easy other than that they stuck to the bottom of the pan. It was my first attempt at a layered cake, even if it was only 2 layers. It was also my first experimentation with Fondant Icing, and my first time really taking the decorating of a cake seriously. The result wasn't Grand by any means but it came out pretty cute if I do say so myself.....

Brynlee thought the Fondant tasted good.
Brynlee got lots of presants

Brynlee got a ride on pony that plays music and has a basket in the front for the baby doll she got for Christmas. After it was put together Noah stole it and started "riding" in circles around the living room Brynlee chasing him the whole way...
After she chased him for a while, he put hr on the horse put her feet up in the basket and pushed her around the house, she had A LOT of fun!
With ALL her uncles and aunt
After presents it was time for cake. We blew out the candles after dinner but waited to eat. First Brynlee finished off the last eye ball. She had eaten the other and the nose earlier.
Then we cut the cake and split it up, there was an argument over who would get Elmo's head, so Brynlee got it. Noah decided that he and Sawyer where going to see who could eat their cake fastest, Noah won becouse he shoved the whole thing in his mouth, Brynlee just looked at him like "Man, your worse than me!" Made for a cute pic though!
In the picture above you can see a corner of fondant that once had cake in it. Brynlee decided the dogs should get to celebrate her birthday and eat cake too. She held her fondant corner over the edge of the tray. The dogs started to lick it and before Daddy could grab it....
Brynlee let go and cowgirl had swallowed it! We all laughed very hard.
Cowgirl appreciated the gesture though!
