Drill Party

Saturday night James got out of drill and we went to Mamaw's concert. We sat with Jp, Susan, and Katie and saw Memaw, Ellan Ann, and of course Mamaw! It was a fun night and Brynlee fell right asleep. 

Yesterday James' unit did their Christmas party so we skipped church to attend. The guys all wore their dress uniforms and looked so nice! We also found out that one of their soldiers, Timothy Zimmer, had gotten into a car accident Friday night and passed away. He was just 4 weeks away from his 20th birthday.

On a brighter note they had a pinata for the kids.

and Santa even showed up after the raffle and lunch.

Brynlee was SO excited!

She even got a gift from Santa!

She showed it off to James and then opened the gift she had seen mommy wrapping that morning. She was very happy to have it since she had wanted it so badly all week!

It was a fun day but still a bit heavy emotionally.
